Overview
Processes are created from templates that define a sequence of stages. When you create a process, you choose a template, link it to a client, and optionally set a start date and custom name. The system generates the stages automatically from the template.
Creating a Process
- 1
Navigate to Processes in the sidebar and click New Process in the top right (or press N). The New Process dialog opens.
- 2
Select a Template from the dropdown. Only active (non-archived) templates appear. If you do not see the template you need, ask an administrator to create one in process template settings.
- 3
Select a Client using the client search box. Start typing to filter by name.
- 4
Set the Start Date. This defaults to today. Stage due dates are calculated relative to this date.
- 5
Optionally set a Due Date for the process. Leave it blank to use the template's default, if it has one.
- 6
Optionally enter a Name Override. Leave this blank to use the template name as the process name.
- 7
Click Create Process. You are taken directly to the new process detail page.
You can also create a process from a client's detail page. Open the client, go to the Processes tab, and click New Process. The client field is pre-filled for you.
What Happens After Creation
The process starts straight away: its status is In Progress and its first stage (or first group of parallel stages) is active, unless the template schedules it to start later. The remaining stages are generated from the template with a status of Pending. Every stage is assigned to the client's manager, or to you if the client has no manager.
