Overview
If you keep your books in Xero or QuickBooks Online, you can connect them to the portal. Your accountant can then read what they need to prepare your accounts, such as your trial balance and ledger, without you exporting reports. The connection is read-only: your accountant can't post journals or change invoices in your books.
Connecting Your Books
- 1Click Integrations in the menu
- 2Click Connect Xero or Connect QuickBooks
- 3Sign in to Xero or QuickBooks and allow access when asked
- 4If your login has more than one organisation, choose the one your accountant should work with under Choose your organisation and click Confirm
You return to the portal and the card shows Connected, the organisation you connected and when it was authorised.
Refreshing or Disconnecting
- Sync now fetches the latest data from your books straight away
- Disconnect ends the connection. Your accountant can no longer read your books until you connect again
If the Connection Stops Working
Connections expire from time to time, and you can also remove access from inside Xero or QuickBooks. When that happens the card shows Expired or Revoked at provider. Click Reconnect Xero or Reconnect QuickBooks and sign in again.
You need to be able to sign in to Xero or QuickBooks with permission to connect apps. If someone else manages your books, ask them to connect it, or message your accountant.
